This pillar will focus on the possible impacts and the associated risks that climate changes impose on both natural and social systems.
With this pillar, we contribute to an understanding and appreciation of how climate change affects ecosystems, biodiversity, agriculture, health, infrastructure, socioeconomic structures, migration, and issues related to injustice and security.
Natural and social sciences go hand in hand when studying, e.g., the valuation of climate change impacts on natural systems (ecosystem services, pollutants, forcers etc), or cascading effects, such as droughts leading to low water levels in rivers and ensuing supply and value chain disruptions.
