iClimate Mixer & Film Screening: Tangled – Framing Climate Otherwise

Please join us for a casual mixer on Wednesday August 5, 2025, from 15:30-18:30 in connection with the iClimate Summer School on Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Climate Change. The summer school will bring together students from different scientific backgrounds and over two weeks cover topics across NAT, TECH, BSS, Health, and Arts. 

We will have some light refreshments, and you can get to know our interdisciplinary iClimate Summer School and meet this year's students and some of the teachers. 

This year’s Mixer also includes a screening of Tangled, a 66-minute film by Annika Capelán based on long-term ethnographic research in landscapes of wool production in the Global South – or what she calls Wool Worked Worlds. The film offers a situated and sensory way into questions central to climate: how climate and climate change are framed, how problems come to be defined, and how such framings shape which solutions become imaginable – and for whom. Rather than providing answers, Tangled aims to open up questions about how climate is entangled in daily lives, histories, and layered temporalities, sometimes in hidden ways, through ethnography, film, animals, landscapes, and everyday practices. 

Program

• From 15:30: grab a drink/snack/networking. 

• 16:00-16:30: Introduction to this year's iClimate Summer School by Vivi Kathrine Pedersen + some students pitch their case work (2 min per group).

• 16:30-16:45: introduction to Tangled by Annika Capelan

• 16:45-17:55: Screening of Tangled 

• 18:00-18:30: Discussions based on movie/networking
