My research expertise covers growth, productivity and quality of perennial crops for biorefining and bioenergy with special focus on and the environmental impact. It also includes flooding tolerant plants on rewetted peatland, also known as paludiculture. I have measured GHG emissions (CO2, CH4 and N2O) from cropping systems both on mineral soils and on peatland with manual and automated chambers. At 5 peatland sites eddy covariance towers are currently monitoring CO2 and CH4 fluxes and the energy balance.
