How can economic tools improve environmental governance?
My research investigates how economic instruments and behavioral interventions can be used to design effective, evidence-based environmental policies. I focus on the valuation of natural resources, regulation of aquaculture, and the economic impacts of marine pollution—particularly plastic waste. Drawing on my expertise in non-market valuation and environmental policy evaluation, I aim to support sustainable governance through research.
I am passionate about engaging students through research-led, interdisciplinary teaching. At present, I co-teach the Master’s-level course Environmental Governance: Policy Processes and the Economic Dimension, which introduces biology students to key concepts in environmental economics and policy analysis.
Through my work with the Danish Centre for Environment and Energy, I contribute science-based consultancy to support the development of effective climate adaptation strategies, particularly in relation to flood risk management.
